I love it all: embroidery, canvaswork, quilting, crochet. So much to do, so little time.

Three Starts and Two Finishes

Happy Tuesday!  Hope August has been treating you well, with a little time to stitch, too.

Here are my new starts that have kept me occupied for the past month or so.  First, there's Catherine Theron's Winter Strawberries, an EGA chapter project.

This is the photo of (hopefully) how it will look once it's finished.  There is the main piece which is a needleroll, a pincushion, plus a cute little scissor fob.

Here's my start.  The green background for the word Scissors is stitched in "petit point" over one on 32-count linen.  The instructions were to do it in tent stitch, but you can see the telltale slanted pattern in the overdyed floss that says "basketweave."  I've actually added a couple more rows of strawberries since this photo was taken, but you get the picture.

I started and finished this next project.  The hardanger heart is attached to the metal tin using double-sided tape found in almost any craft store.  This may look familiar to some of you--I stitched one of these last year, but it went to live elsewhere.  This one is mine, I entered it in the local county fair and...

...won second place!  I was gobsmacked because I truly was not expecting any kind of a ribbon.  Believe me, the winning entry was much larger and more intricate than this little piece.  This was a freebie designed by Roz Watnemo that was given out at the last Nordic Needle retreat.  For more Fair results, check out the Flying Fingers Plus blog.

Finally, I started Count Twice by Plum Street Samplers.

And it's finished, too!  I added the scissors and spools of thread on either end to give the piece a little more width, since the plan was to have it finished as a drum pinkeep by my GF Averyclaire.

I love, love, love the way this turned out!

That's it from here.
Thanks, as always, for visiting!

And "Count Twice" is delightful . . . the finishing, of course, is fantastic. You are the fastest stitcher, I know, Pat!!! So impressed!
