I love it all: embroidery, canvaswork, quilting, crochet. So much to do, so little time.

Rotation Revisited

It's been a while since my last rotation update, but I've been busily stitching away during these last few weeks.  Larger projects take more time to show any real progress, and everything takes longer to complete than one thinks.  Let's get to the photos:

First up is Long Dog Samplers' Dawn Chorus.  Here is where I left off in June:

And this is where it's at now:

Here's a close-up of some of the birds:

I love the dog standing in the "O"...

I've still been plugging away at my hardanger table topper, Cindy Valentine's Pristine.  Before-and-after photos just don't work with this project, so I'll give you some photos of what I've been up to with this BAP:

Woven bars...

 ...woven bars...

...and more woven bars.
But the good news is
that once I finish the woven bars,
whenever that will be,
then "all" I have left is the hemstitching!
I have some real momentum going here,
and the project is humming right along.

Finally, here is where I left
Carriage House Samplings' Frederika
in July:

And here she is now:
All finished!
Stitching the border took
way longer than I anticipated.

Here's a close-up:
As you can see, lots of stitches
and color changes.
I'm very happy she's done.
The colors are perfect for autumn.

A-a-nd...

I took her in to be framed
the day before yesterday.
I got a call late yesterday that
she was ready for pick-up.
Norm (my 91-year-old flying finger framing guy)
helped me pick out the frame, too.
And I just love it!

Here's a close-up.
I actually said "No, this isn't my type,"
when he pulled the frame.
Then I put it next to the piece.
I clearly need to think outside of my little box more often!

My next challenge will be
making a label (and sewing it on)
to a quilt that I've entered
into my quilt guild's show,
which is being held in nine days.
It's a requirement.
Just one little label for one little quilt.
(The quilt was finished a couple of years ago.)

I wonder if they'd reject my quilt
if I brought it in without a fabric label?
I may find out.

And Debbie Rowley's Angles.
It's been screaming at me all summer.
That's my ANG chapter's challenge piece:
finish it by the deadline and you get a tote bag;
miss the deadline and you
pay $10 to the Chapter's treasury.
Wanna see how far I've gotten?

But my deadline for this piece
is June 2016, so I guess
I should do the quilt label first.
 Yeah.

That's it from here.
Enjoy your September,
and thanks so much for dropping by!

Frederica looks gorgeous - your framer is a treasure! Great progress on Dawn Chorus too. Now you just need to get that label done - good luck!

I love seeing all of your before and after photos. When one thinks one is not making progress....it becomes quite obvious YES IT'S GETTING DONE! I adore your hardanger/pulled thread cloth and don't think I would have patience for all those wrapped bars. And Frederica is simply stunning. I see what took so long with that border. But it really turned out super. The frame is perfect! Beautiful stitching as always!

What fabulous stitching you shared! I love the frame molding you selected for Frederika. Would you share the name of the frame molding and company? Enjoy your weekend!
